URVR Uganda implements five core programs to protect and promote the rights of refugees and host communities at Nakivale Refugee Settlement. URVR programs Uganda include Legal Aid, SGBV Documentation, Child Protection, Civic Education and Advocacy for Refugee Rights. Through these URVR programs Uganda, we have assisted over 500 refugees and host community members in Isingiro District, Uganda. Our Legal Aid program provides free legal representation for refugees. Our Child Protection program safeguards vulnerable children. Our Civic Education program empowers communities to know their rights.

Legal Aid

We provide free legal assistance to refugees facing protection issues, detention, and violations of their rights.

Civic Education

We empower refugees and host communities through civic education, raising awareness of their rights and responsibilities.

Advocacy for Refugee Rights

We advocate at local, national, and international levels for the protection and promotion of refugee rights in Uganda.

SGBV & LGBT Documentation

We document cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and LGBT persecution, supporting survivors and building evidence for advocacy.

Child Protection

We protect refugee children from abuse, exploitation, and separation, ensuring access to education and safe environments.
